Changing terminal network settings

 

 


The Mitrefinch MF500/700/900 series terminal uses a special menu to set up the basic terminal functionality. The main keys normally have an icon next to them to represent the function associated with the key.

Key naming conventions

F1 – Top cursor key

F2 – Bottom cursor key

F4 – Main selection key (large circular button in between the cursor keys)

When the change function key is visible then you can press it to change the functions associated with the other two keys. During the set up process this normally cycles between functions Accept, Cancel, Move left, Move right.


Reboot the terminal

Press and hold the F1 + F2 + 2 for three seconds

To access the special menu, you need to press the F1 key when the terminal displays its initial start up message

If the F1 key has been pressed correctly then you will be asked to confirm your choice by entering the standard Mitrefinch installation PIN. Press the cancel key if you do not want to proceed. Otherwise enter the valid PIN to proceed to the next menu choice.

Press ENTER to accept this menu choice.

SETUP


Pressing ENTER will then cycle through each of the menu options. Use Move left and Move right keys to cycle through available settings for each menu option, or move left and right for numeric options. Use the number keys to enter values for numeric options. Use the cancel key to save the changes and return to the operational mode.

Generally there will be the following options available. These may change as newer versions of firmware become avaialable.

Address
Subnet bits
Gateway address
Use DHCP
DNS address
Network speed
Fallback to 10Mbit



Please be careful when changing settings in the SETUP menu. Invalid settings can cuase the terminal to become unsuable
