The Employee dashboard

The Employee dashboard

Overview

When you log in to TMS as an Employee, the Employee dashboard is displayed. For example:

Your Dashboard is set up for you by a Supervisor and includes one or more tabs containing Widgets. These are used to display TMS information and provide access to the TMS features available to you. Widgets can also be used to display external websites and other information. In the previous example a tab labelled 'TMS' is open and there is a second tab labelled 'Useful links'. Click on a tab to open it.

If you see shortcut icons but no tabs and Widgets when you log in to TMS, your Dashboard has not been set up. For example:

You will need to ask your Supervisor to set up your Dashboard.

Widgets

Widgets are containers for the information you see on your Dashboard. There are different types of Widgets in TMS, each are explained in more detail below:

  • Summary widgets — display dynamic TMS information. For example the Entitlements widget might display information about your current holiday entitlement. Clicking a Summary widget opens the relevant TMS page.

  • HTML widgets — display information from outside TMS such as external websites. For example, a website displaying the local weather or your company intranet might be displayed in an HTML widget.

  • Menu and Shortcuts widgets — display links to the TMS features available to you.

Widgets are arranged in tabs on your Dashboard. The tabs and Widgets that you see are set up by a Supervisor.

Summary Widgets

Summary widgets display dynamic TMS information on your Dashboard such as your current holiday Entitlement, your picture and Flex balance, if you are a Flex employee. The following is an example of a Summary widget for an Employee's Entitlement:

The information displayed in a Summary widget is updated when a change is made in TMS. For example, if you take a planned absence, the values for 'Taken' and 'Planned' will change in your Entitlements widget.

If you click on a Summary widget, the relevant TMS page opens. For example, clicking the Entitlements widget opens the Entitlements page.

HTML Widgets

HTML widgets can be used to display external information such as websites. The following is an example of a Dashboard tab containing two HTML widgets displaying the a YouTube video and some text:

The Menu widget contains links to the TMS features available to you such as Change PIN, Clock In, Clock out etc. For example:

Clicking an item in the Menu widget opens the relevant page.

You may need to scroll to find an item in the list.

Shortcut Widgets

The Shortcuts widget contains icons representing TMS features available to you such as Change PIN, Employee details, Clock in/out etc. For example:

Clicking an icon in the Shortcuts widget opens the relevant page.

The Shortcuts widget can be customised and so may not include icons for all of the TMS features available to you. You may need to scroll to find an icon in the Widget.
