Starting from April 2021, EYU submissions are no longer accepted by HMRC for the 2020/2021 tax years, and onwards. Instead, a new submission has been introduced called RTI – Year-end correction FPS - any earlier year updates for the 2020/2021 tax year and later need to use this new functionality. A new menu option is available in the Year end menu on the Flexipay toolbar for these new earlier year update submissions:
For Tax year 2020/2021 and onwards, you now need to use the RTI – Year end correction FPS in the Year end menu on the Flexipay toolbar. This is only applicable following the end of the Tax year, so is should not be used until after the 19th April. When choosing a tax year in this option, it does the opposite to the EYU – you cannot go lower than 2020. This functionality works exactly like the previous EYU option, submitting to-date values only. You can still run the Print RTI Amendments report to see the amendments that will be submitted. The only difference with this new functionality is that the amendments are submitted via an FPS rather than an EYU.
As before, you will still need to create a year-end data copy to enable corrections and produce your year-end reports, e.g. P60s.
Note: an EPS submission may still be required if the amendments have changed the recoverable amounts.
