On-site system preferences

On-site system preferences

To set the On-site system preferences, first navigate to the On-site list page and click on the action On-site system preferences in the left-hand pane. A new page will open with a field to set the Preference for Data update interval (mins). For example:

The Preference allows a Supervisor to set the amount of time (in minutes) the system will update the On-site information. The On-site data will be updated in the web servers in intervals of the set time, running in the background, so when a Supervisor or Employee opens the On-site list page, the data would have been updated previously.

Note: the longer the interval set in the Preference, the longer the information within the On-site list may be outdated. For example, setting the Preference to 10 minutes will result in faster loading times and less strain on the web servers when opening the On-site list but will also mean the information displayed in the On-site list can be outdated by up to 10 minutes.

If the Preference is set to 0 minutes, the data for the On-site list will be updated when the On-site list page is loaded and when the On-site list is refreshed.

Note: if an On-site list is set to Auto Refresh, the data will also be updated at the same time the On-site list is refreshed. Depending on the amount of data being updated, the response time may be slow compared to setting a time for the data to update in the background. The benefit of this is having up-to-date information whenever the On-site list is loaded or refreshed.

Click Submit in the left-hand pane to save the Preference and return to the On-site list. The On-site list(s) data will now update at intervals you had set in the Preference.

Click Close in the left-hand pane to abort any changes and return to the On-site list page.
